Roxy, a six year old Blue Heeler, has been a part of our family since she was 13 weeks old. She is very loyal to us and loves to run outdoors. She needs space due to her only known speed-- very fast. She enjoys being inside, but prefers the outdoors when the weather is nice. There are times when she refuses to come in at bedtime. She came be very stubborn when it comes to coming in at night. She sleeps in a kennel every night. There are times when the boys play video games too late that she puts herself to bed. In the winter, she loves to hang out with grandma.
Roxy does not like other dogs, especially small dogs. She also doesn't like children under 6. I think she feels like she has to show that she is the Alpha and tends to scare the little ones. However, she will play with an energetic 6 old until his batteries run out.
Roxy has attended an 8-week training session and did very well. She will respond to directions both verbal and hand signals, but needs practice.
