Chai's Story...
**PLEASE READ TO THE END FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION.**

Chai is almost 4 months old and weighs 4 lbs. He is very much a puppy and will need the usual Puppy 101. He tends to be a little more timid than his siblings but still loves people. His confidence should grow with no issues in a supportive, loving home. Chai is also recovering from a mild case of demodex mange (noncontagious) and has some hair loss on the top of his head. He has received treatment and will continue to grow his hair back with time and good nutrition. Chai will be ready to go home in a few short weeks!

If you would like to adopt Chai, please fill out an application at www.TexasChihuahuaRescue.com. His adoption fee, including vetting paperwork, microchip registration to adopter, collar & harness, is $300.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chai, a Houston Chihuahua puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Houston, or seeking a Chihuahua puppy from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
