Sally Mae's Story...
Hi! I'm Miss Sally Mae. I'm a sweet southern belle. You may be tempted to describe me as a little on the plump side, but I prefer the description, "big-boned." I can be a little nervous with strange noises, but as long as I've got a place to hide for a minute, I'll soon come back out as curiosity always gets the better of me! I'm not one for being picked up, but I just love to lie next to you, on you, or around you. If you tap the floor and call my name, I will come to you for a head rub. Please be gentle petting my butt. I'm very sensitive back there. When you talk pretty to me, I will chat back and give you a proper head-butt.
I'm a good girl and use my scratching cardboard box all the time, so no worries there.
If you tap my dish, I know that it is time to eat. I'm a social eater, so while I eat, stick around to talk to me or clean out my litter box. After I eat, I would love it if you would play on the floor with me. I like small toys that make a little noise. I especially like to play fetch in the morning after I eat breakfast. If you throw my little mouse, I will fetch it and bring it back to you. Many times! I also like to chase the ribbons or feather on the big stick. It's so much fun to play with you!
When it's nap time, my favorite thing is to lie next to you on the couch while you watch TV and spoon (...yes, spoon!) with you. But, if you're not around for me to lay by, I'm most comfortable sleeping under a sheet, blanket, or in my carrier (with the door open please).
I’m not sure if I get along with other kitties, but I'm sure you'll help me to get acquainted with some nice ones. Just be sure to give me a hiding place so I can come and go when I'm ready.
