Gatsby is a 2 year old Chihuahua, shy at first but warms up quickly, weighing 7 pounds. However, he is very afraid of men, and will not stop barking at them. He is crate trained and probably house trained. After some supervision, he gets along with other dogs. He does play rough, so needs another active dog. He is a bridle color, unusual for a Chihuahua.

His time in the shelter was tough, but Gatsby turned into a sophisticated charmer once he got to his foster home. He's suave and urbane, and has a real way with the ladies -- human ones, that is! A bad boy turned good, Gatsby is ready to steal your heart. But no men.

His adoption fee is $150. He will be at our Sayrebrook Vet Hospital adoption center at 1400 Main St (GPS address 989 Main), Sayreville NJ 08871.(open 11 to 3:30), Sat & Sun. For more info call Susan 732-718-8757.

Our Adoption Process...

Prospective adopters will fill out a prescreening form. Once that is reviewed, the adoption can be done.
Each pet is priced according to what vetting we have to do.
If we get a dog that is already spayed/neutered,and we have to just vaccinate it, then the fee is $100.00. If we have to do all the vetting for a dog, the fee is $250.00 which includes spay/neuter, heartworm test, and necessary vaccines. Cats are typically $100.00 which includes spay/neuter, distemper and rabies. If we test for FELV/FIV, then that is an additional $30.00 charge.
