Rawk-C (pronounced Roxie) is a Lab/Pit mix, estimated to be about 2 years old.   Due to an unknown injury in her past, Rawk-C's left front leg was amputated at the shoulder, but having only three legs is not a problem for this active girl who can do anything that a dog with four legs can do.  She can run, jump, dig, pull hard on the leash, and play a very challenging game of tug-of-war. However, due to her amputation, her new owner will need to take care that she doesn’t gain weight which would put extra stress on her joints. Rawk-C has a heart of gold and instinctively knows to be gentle with puppies and babies.  She LOVES and craves the company of other dogs, and she gets along fine with cats as long as they don’t mind being playfully chased. Rawk-C kennels at night and is potty trained. She is still working on her manners of not jumping on folks and not pulling on the leashThe perfect home for her must have another large dog for a playmate and have a fence.  We recommend that her adopter not have small children since Rawk-C may knock them over while playing. This sweetheart needs a home where she will be loved and cared for like a family member.

Before applying to adopt Rawk-C, you need to be familiar with your local breed-specific legislation regarding Bully breeds.  Applicants must live within 50 miles of the Omaha/Council Bluffs area.  Applicants must provide a vet reference.

The suggested adoption donation for Rawk-C is $200, which is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, and goes toward providing supportive services to animals in the home, as well as the high cost of vetting our dogs in rescue.  If you would like to welcome Rawk-C into your home, please begin by submitting our Adoption Application.  The adoptions for all of our dogs will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver the dogs.  If you would like to learn more about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, or donate to our dogs, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com.  We invite you to visit our Facebook Page, and when you visit, please don't forget to Like our Facebook page so that you won’t miss any information about our dogs and events!

About Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, Inc. is a not for profit organization formed in 2014 by a small group of devoted animal lovers, in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area, with many years of rescue experience wanting to make a difference in the lives of dogs. Our rescue focuses on small breed dogs, less than 35 pounds, of any age. It is all volunteer based, and all of our rescue dogs are living in the homes of our volunteers.
Our rescue is unique in that we offer supportive services, such as education and training, to owners considering relinquishing their pet in an effort to try to keep the dog in their home whenever possible. We also educate and offer placement assistance to owners attempting to rehome their pets through social media sites, which can often be risky for the pets as well as the owners.
