My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello fur baby lovers, my name is Polar.

I am a golden retriever lab mix. I was found by Infinite Woofs Animal Rescue a few months ago, they saved my life. Before IWARS found me. I was abused and starved, and so I became very afraid of humans, and was terrified to even come inside. My foster mama helped me see that not all humans are bad, and that not all of them will hurt me. I had a lot to work on at first, but each day gets better and better. I am no longer afraid now, and will approach strangers with my tail wagging and go in for pets, instead of my tail tucked under my tummy and hiding in the corner.

I am a very very good listener, and I love to be taught new things. My foster home consists of a small senior dog, whom I have become best buds with, a senior kitty whom I leave alone and don't mind at all, but most importantly my family has a little 9 month old baby boy. Since meeting him I have been very trusting and gentle with him. He climbs on me and I give him many kisses. I look out for him and we have become good pals. At night I go for walks with my family and I am very well behaved always walking nicely beside the stroller. I do not bark at people passing by usually and I do know what the "leave it" command means. I like to sleep in my bed beside my foster moms bed with the rest of the fur babies. I do not have any food aggressions unless I am given a bone and feel threatened it might be stolen from me. So I am given bones outside only. I am house trained fully and do not have any accidents inside. I do sometimes still get afraid to come in through the door ways, but with a little patients I will get over my fear and all is well. I have learnt to sit nicely for treats and also have recently learned to play tug of war. I have had a ton of play dates with other dogs and I am excellent with them. I am ready to explore the off leash park as well. My only problem is that when I am left alone I tend to chew things and I do get into the garbage outside if it is not placed into a bin. These are things that I can work on though. I am so willing to learn, the more love I am shown the more I trust and the more love I give. I have lots of love to give someone that wants to love me right back. I really am the perfect gentleman.

I am so ready for a home of my own, will that be with you?

Love,
Polar xo
