Daffodil's Story...
Meet Daffodil a female Parakeet (Budgie) that came into our rescue on Friday May 12th from a local shelter where she came in as a stray. She is new but adjusting well, her wings have been trimmed and her overgrown nails clipped. She is not mean but not tame yet. She will need some work to teach her to step up and sit on your finger for more than a few seconds. The photos were taken after the first 10 min training session and only second day here, so with a little work she should learn quickly. Many female Parakeets are very hard to tame, so this little one is a gem. She was vet checked by an exotic vet and found to be in good physical condition. If you are interested in meeting this nice little bird please contact me Debbie at dhbirdlover@gmail.com for an application to start the process.

Her adoption fee is $12.00 for the bird only, it does NOT include a cage (no cage available, so you will need to have your own cage).

We do not ship pets so all potential adopters must live within a 30 miles radius of Aurora IL . A home check prior to adoption is part of the process.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Daffodil, a Lombard Parakeet - Other was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Parakeet - Other for sale in Lombard, or seeking a Parakeet - Other from a breeder in Lombard.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lombard already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lombard breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Parakeet - Other breeders who help with Parakeet - Other rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lombard paves the way for another one to be saved.
