Arthur is my name and I am in search of an experienced family who is looking for a dog with smarts. I try very hard to always be on my best behaviour but every now and then I get myself into trouble. You see I protect my prized possessions a little too much – be it a ball, a napkin, or even a dirty sock. If it’s in my mouth, I don’t want anyone getting between me and my “treasure”. Although my previous family cared for me and were sad to see me go, they were not comfortable with my behaviour around children. Now, resource guarding is common in a lot of dogs and the good news is that with proper training, using positive reinforcement, we can both learn how to manage it. I would excel at obedience training; I’m very clever and enjoy putting my brain to good use. I learn new things very quickly and with a family who is supportive, consistent and loving, I know that I can achieve success in overcoming any small problem. I am very athletic and would enjoy nothing more than to participate in dog sports, frisbee, or just retrieving a ball. My dream family must be active, patient, gentle and balance outdoor adventures with plenty of snuggling time. In addition, I am a handsome dog who has an easy-care coat – no fussing over knots or matts. My size is perfect – not too big, not too small – easy-to-handle medium size. To the new people in my life, I will offer you my own brand of love and devotion. All I ask in return is that you accept me as a valued family member for the rest of my life.
