Chance's Story...
Meet Chance! He is 6 month old, 12 lb., tan and white Dachshund/Chihuahua blend with soft brown eyes and an amazingly kind and gentle personality. Chance got his name from the veterinarian who saved him from a very crowded shelter when he came in with a broken leg. When she picked him up to examine him, he melted in her arms and then put his head over her shoulder and sighed. She knew at that exact moment that he deserved a second chance. He is a volunteer favorite at 3R! Chance’s leg recovering nicely and he is preparing for his new life.

Chance is house-trained, walks well on a leash and is learning all his basic commands including sit, down, come. This little love bug enjoys cuddling up with you, going for rides in the car or taking walks.

Chance would do great as an only dog or with other dogs. He would also be a great "empty nester" dog or RV companion. He would be great addition to any family.

Chance is neutered, micro-chipped, and up to date on all shots. For more information go to www.3rrescue.org or phone 707-529-4643 or email: 3rrescue@gmail.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chance, a Winters Dachshund/Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Chihuahua for sale in Winters, or seeking a Dachshund/Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Winters.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Winters already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Winters breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Chihuahua breeders who help with Dachshund/Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Winters paves the way for another one to be saved.
