My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our hours are by appointment only. If you are a good match, we will contact you, typically within 72 hours. YOU WILL HEAR FROM US ONLY IF WE FIND YOU TO BE A GOOD MATCH FOR ONE OF OUR RESCUE ANIMALS AND OUR ADOPTION GUIDELINES/PROGRAM. We must review a completed application before an appointment is arranged. No exceptions. All visits with the rescue animals are by approved applications and appointments only.

Molly is a beautiful, regal, eight-year-old, German Shepherd Dog female available for adoption! She weighs 73 pounds.

Molly has excellent house manners, but she is also very content to sit outside with you while you garden, work on a home improvement project this summer or hang out with your friends on the patio. She is always looking for a car ride as well. Molly will make a terrific co-pilot for any sightseeing trips or quick trips to Starbucks.

Molly is a sociable girl, but likes to socialize at her own initiation. She absolutely enjoys her walks to the store everyday with the other male shepherd in her foster home. Molly may love lounging around inside and in the yard, but her daily walks are her favorite.

Molly is completely house- and leash-trained. She responds very quickly to commands and is learning new commands in her foster home. Molly lives with one adult foster GSD brother now. She appears to be relatively non-reactive to other dogs and cats. The neighborhood cat walks through the yard and Molly just ignores the cat.

Although Molly is responsive to corrections and the alpha human, she definitely needs a home with an experienced GSD owner and with a firm understanding of the role of leadership in the pack order. She needs consistency, praise, walks, and firmness, not harshness. Molly has had years of being left to lead for herself. Her previous owner moved into an assisted living facility due to dementia and Molly found herself without a home.

Molly prefers female humans, but will likely make a successful adjustment to males in the home. Please, no children as Molly has not lived with/been around children.
