Middle aged intact male Lab. Very active and strong. 70lbs. This boy would probably chase a ball for hours. His owner turned him into the shelter and told the shelter staff he was a stray and they were moving out of state so they could not keep him. They were given a warning for a chocolate Lab running loose 3 1/2 months ago...

Act quickly to adopt Sherwood. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sherwood, a McDonough Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in McDonough, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in McDonough.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in McDonough already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a McDonough breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in McDonough paves the way for another one to be saved.
