My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Lilly and I am such a lover. I was a stray in west Texas and wondered into a lady’s yard along with my best friend Maya. This lady couldn’t keep us and was told that we would be euthanized if we had to go to the pound; luckily 2 days later we both found our way to our foster home in El Paso Texas. We both got spayed and up to date on all our shots, my sister and I are both heartworm negative and very playful puppies ready to find our new home in CT. I am probably 6-8 months old; I have some more growing to do. I am probably a beagle/ dashund/chi mix- I am only 13lbs now, but I am so full on energy I can keep up with even the biggest dogs. I get along great with other dogs, very eager to meet others when out on a walk. I do well both on and off the leash. I am better off a leash when I have another loyal dog to follow behind/ near (keep me on a leash near cars and new people- sometimes I am so friendly I take it upon myself to follow behind them). Don’t let my size fool you I can go on long walks and keep up pretty well with my pointer, heeler, and Akita brothers and sisters- and man do they move far and fast! It gets hot down here in Texas but I can still move, I might even like to swim very curious about the kitty pool in the yard! I need a family who will take me on walks and runs daily. I need exercise, since I do well with others dog parks are great too. I would benefit from an organized puppy class to learn some extra manners; I have come pretty far in my foster home but need some reinforcement to bond with my new people. I am good with other dogs and don’t become bothered or irritated if someone else takes the bone or toy I was playing with. I am also good with cats- most of them are already bigger than me- I am interested in their smell then I move on my way. I really enjoy squeaky toys but most of all I enjoy spending time with my people. I want to be right by your side- if you go upstairs I will be right up there too- trust me. I love to sit next to you on the couch and snuggle. I am crated during the day and do well no accidents or chewing on the many comfy blankets in there. I sleep in there at night sometimes, but I am also a good candidate to sleep in your bed with you or in the same room- with minimal distractions I settle quickly. I wine for only a few minutes in my crate then settle down. I love to chew on bones just like the big dogs. I love new people and do well with little kids (tested child 3 years old). I can be jumpy and playful like a puppy, I am learning to not jump and nip for attention- a puppy class will help reinforce good behavior. I love to eat- don’t over feed me though, ill act like I didn’t eat! I would be a great addition to a home that could provide me with lots of love forever! I can’t wait to be a part of your family I won’t disappoint- I promise!

This pup is great with kids, cats and prefers small to medium dogs. Fully vetted which means: altered, rabies, distemper, bordetella, heart worm test, fecal test, dewormed and microchip.
Adoption fee is $385.
