Hailey's Story...
This sweet, petite black and tan wirehair Dachshund beauty is 6 years old and happy to finally be free of the commercial breeding industry! Hailey is timid due to her past life in the commercial breeding facility, but she is starting to come around to human attention. She gets excited and wags her tail when her foster mama talks to her. She's still a little skittish about being picked up and cuddled, but is slowly learning to trust humans. Hailey loves spending time with her canine foster siblings, so another small resident dog is a must to keep her company and show her the ropes. She will also need a securely fenced yard. NO children, please! Check back for more information as Hailey gets settled into her foster home!
Suggested adoption donation for Hailey is $350 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.
Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts only to people living in states neighboring Nebraska and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not transport or fly our rescue dogs. A securely fenced yard is necessary to adopt one of our terriers. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment for terriers.Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hailey, a Omaha Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Omaha, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Omaha.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Omaha already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Omaha breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Omaha paves the way for another one to be saved.
