My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We do not adopt dogs from phone calls or emails. Please do not fill in adoption forms anywhere else, but on OUR web site. Thanks for that.

To start our adoption process, please fill out our form on our web site at: www.spokanewienerdogs.org and see the Adopt a Dog/Fee page with more details on how we adopt our dogs. There are a lot of questions answered on our web site and personality details below about each dog BELOW so please READ BEFORE getting in touch. We already answer 500+ emails a day. We do answer questions on dogs once our adoption paperwork is filled in so we can match to the right homes.

Please indicate which dog you are interested in on our adoption form. If their name says "pending home" then they are not available and are on a test drive with a new family. We do remove our dogs when our adoptions are final so please do not ask us if dogs are available if you see their ads.

There is an adoption fee of $150 for this dog.

Dixie came to rescue though no fault of her own. She is six years old and a small sized girl about 11 pounds with very long legs compared to the wieners here. ;-)

She was a shy, reserved, mellow girl so looking for a more quiet home for her without any children would be best for her. UPDATE: She has bloomed into a wonderful charming girl here with socializing with a lot of company including children. This is a very charming and happy girl now with a few months of work. There is nothing wrong with her, she is just a mix, not a purebred.

Dixie originally came from a shelter so not sure of her mix but possibly dachshund mixed with min pin or chihuahua. It does not matter what she is other than sweet and loves people. It took her a while to warm up to us but once she did she is now a lap loving sweetness.

She did come in too thin so we wormed her of course and throwing the food at her so looking better already. I think the young baby in the last home as stressing her out as here she is having fun and playing with all the dogs while waiting for the right home.

You will be missing out if you do not adopt this very sweet dog.
