Nellie's Story...
Nellie is looking for her forever!

Nellie is a beautiful 7 month old Bluetick Coonhound mix! This girl is very docile and quiet but she is sure to steal your heart as soon as you meet her. Nellie is good with other dogs of all sizes, cats and kids. She is house broken and crate trained. Nellie has been working on her basic obedience training and will need a family to continue to teach her! Nellie is not overly active but she likes to play and run around, so a family that is willing to give her the proper amount of exercise is very important! Nellie is very true to her breed and likes to explore the world with her nose first, so it is important that she is either leash walked, or contained with a sturdy fence!

If you have room in your home and heart for Nellie, please visit www.because4paws.org and fill out an application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nellie, a Oxford Bluetick Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bluetick Coonhound for sale in Oxford, or seeking a Bluetick Coonhound dog from a breeder in Oxford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oxford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oxford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bluetick Coonhound breeders who help with Bluetick Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oxford paves the way for another one to be saved.
