My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

In addition to the following profile for this dog, please first read the Adoption Information at http://www.shihtzurescuemn.org/adopt.html to understand the process, requirements and timeline for adoption. An adoption application can also be found in the Adoption Info section. If, after reading that information, you have any questions, please submit your question via e-mail and it will be answered. Please do not request a phone call. A personal phone call will only be made when an adoption application has been submitted and the foster parent wishes to consider the application. Thank you!

This is Maggie, a real Shih Tzu lady. She is 10 years old, but acts like she is 6. She weighs twelve pounds, has kept her girlish figure, and is in very good health. Although she was loved in her previous home Maggie was given to our rescue by her family because they had very busy lives and felt they could not give her the time she deserved. Maggie has a good appetite, likes to go for walks, and is housetrained. She sleeps with her foster mom in bed or sometimes under the bed or on the couch. Maggie LOVES her soft toys – they are her “babies.” She protects them with her front paws and gives a warning growl or two just to remind you that they are hers. She is a very friendly little girl and greets the day by waking you in the morning with a burst of energy and playfulness. Maggie may take a few days to get used to her new home, so she needs patience during her transition. But she is so worth giving a little time, because she will become your best pal.

Maggie’s foster mom would prefer to adopt her to a home where someone is home during the day or part of the day and without children. She would also like her adopters to live within 60 miles of the Twin Cities. Maggie is spayed, up to date with vaccinations, microchipped, and is on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Her adoption fee is $128.73 which includes MN sales tax. All adopters and their Shih Tzus are invited to attend STRMN’s annual Rescue Reunion that will be held this year on September 16, 2017. If you are interested in this special girl, please fill out an adoption application on our website at www.shihtzurescuemn.org. Or you can see Maggie and the other dogs available for adoption from Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota by visiting with us from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Minnetonka Petco near Ridgedale the first Saturday of every month.
