My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Mike Boy and I am about 7 years old. I weigh 106 lbs now and I could stand to lose some more but no worries, I am up for the challenge.

A wonderful SCLRR Angel rescued me from Doggy jail on March 30, 2017 because my prior owner had to surrender me as they were unable to give me the exercise and care I needed. My Foster Mom has taken really good care of me since my release and I am VERY loved here.

When I was bailed out of doggy jail I had a bad cough so Mom had to give me medicine until I got to feeling better and then I had to be neutered. Well, now I am feeling like a new dog and as much as my Mom would like to keep me, she told me that there are lots and lots of other dogs that need saving and she knows that there is a loving family out there that would love to have wonderful, fluffy me! When I first came to SCLRR I weighed 118 pounds but with the proper nutrition I have been receiving I have lost 12 pounds and still dropping weight. The Dog doctor said I should weigh about 90 pounds so my ‘forever’ family must make sure I do not get lots of treats or table scraps! Oh my, that is hard to tell everyone but I know it is for my own good.

I am not real active until it is time to go for my walks, but boy do I like to go for walks. My Foster Mom takes me on 3 walks daily, but they are short walks and we total about 3 miles a day. I also love, love, love, all shapes and sizes of other dogs and people! I like them all – big ones, little ones, old ones, and young ones! Mom is not sure how I act around kitty cats as she does not have one, but I saw one on one of our walks and I really, really wanted to go check him out but Mom would not let me chase him. My Mom has lots of wild life in her back yard like birds and squirrels and I just lay and quietly watch their silly antics… I am what they keep calling a very ‘kind’ and loveable soul. I believe I would be a wonderful companion to someone who doesn’t really want a real active dog. Shoot, if I was not so fluffy I would love to get in people’s laps but I settle for just laying close by and waiting for an occasional belly rub or pat on my handsome head.

I am up to date with all my immunizations, I had a dental exam and cleaning when I was neutered a few weeks ago and my teeth are amazingly sparkling and in good shape. My blood work checked out good also.

If you think I would be a good fit for your family please let your Family Rep know that I am ready to make your family complete.
