Pavarotti's Story...
Hola & Bonjourno! My name is Pavarotti and I am a Chihuahua who likes to siiiiing when I'm in my crate! Outside of my create, I am a big baby (well, a little baby. I only weigh 8 pounds.) I love to be with my people and I especially love to be cradled like a baby until I fall asleep in your arms. Check out the photo of me after I was rocked to sleep by a MACS volunteer.

I probably wouldn't make a good pet for an apartment, because I have a loud voice for such a little guy. I was picked up by a nice man in the MACS Rescue Van and brought to the shelter. After the caring people at MACS could not locate my owners, they promised they would find me a new home. I am now neutered and microchipped, so I will never be lost from home again. I'm about 4 years old.

If you would like to meet a Chihuahua who likes to be cuddled and rocked like a baby, please fill out the adoption application on the MACS website and their Adoption Coordinator will contact you to set up an appointment.

Pavarotti is up to date on his vaccines, on heartworm preventative, neutered, and microchipped.

The adoption fee for any of our dogs is $150. Please complete an online application on our website at or call the shelter during adoption hours, Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 3 pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pavarotti, a Detroit Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Detroit, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Detroit.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Detroit already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Detroit breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Detroit paves the way for another one to be saved.
