Oct 25 -- Mom found a home -- her babies are looking for dog loving homes to call their own.....pups are starting on their 10th week. Average weight 7 pounds.______ Back in July we rescued a small Black & Tan Coonhound female we named Mona. She came from a rural southern Ohio shelter and was at the top of their list to be euthanized. Upon taking her into our vet to have her spayed - we were informed this young mom was pregnant. WHAT TO DO!!..... Rachel, a young employee at the vet's office, agreed to foster Mona so she could have her pups. Thank you Rachel!! Aug. 15, 2008 - Mona delivered 9 healthy puppies = 1 girl and 8 boys!!! YIKES. October 10 theses siblings will be 8 weeks old and boy are they CUTE! Some are black and tan and some are short, soft coated, blue- ticked hounds. Probable medium to large dogs as adults. Email with questions. Adoption fee $160. ******One hundred dollars returned****** upon required spay/neuter***** when adopted puppy is age appropriate for surgery. If willing to use our rescue friendly vet (for alteration), a reasonable cost spay/neuter package is available for these pups.......................... ~~~~~~~Coonhounds make exemplary family pets. Generally - mellow, amiable, calm and unobtrusive indoors. Outdoors, strong tracking instincts can take over. Coonhounds can run for miles, although most are content with a moderate jog or long walk with their human companion. Best in home with a securely fenced in large yard for exercise & exploring. Adult hounds can be strong, independent and sometimes stubborn. Hounds are known to be gentle and tolerant with children and can be reserved with strangers.
