Here's what the humans have to say about me:
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Carmella, PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE TO READ ABOUT THE ADOPTION PROCESS AND FILL OUT AN APPLICATION, www.furkidrescue.org
Carmella and her sister Rosita are Chihuahua puppy sisters who flew all the way from Puerto Rico looking for their families! they were both rescued by our friends at Barks of Hope, when they were being sold on the side of the road (which is illegal in Puerto Rico). These puppies were basically feral- not used to human touch, and would urinate when you would pick them up. Carmella is more social than Rosita. They came to us when they were just about 10 weeks of age. We sent them to an experienced foster, and they have really blossomed into wonderful puppies, even though they are still not "outgoing" puppies. They are pee pad trained, and love their stuffed animals, and cuddling on the couch with the other resident dogs. They do live with 2 cats and tend to boss them around and like to bark at them.
We are looking for adopters who are patient, and willing to continue to socialize Carmella. This will include taking a basic puppy class, and possibly eventually working with a certified behavior consultant.
Carmella's adoption fee is $400, with $50 refunded after completion of an approved puppy class in your area.
