My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rusty had a pretty tough start. He was given away when his owners moved and then the second owner surrendered him to a kill shelter in West TN. He was very thin, had infected ears & smelled of ??? In spite of that, he is sweet and loving and a pleasure to be around. He is 3-5 years old and weighs in at 10 lbs (5/18/2017). We expect him to put on a few pounds before he leaves TN. Another part of his Rusty Start is the fact that he is heart worm positive. He is due for treatment on June 6 and should be ready to pack his bags and travel to his new home within 30 days of treatment. He is a joy, loves to be your lap dog, a champion napper and a bit of a billy goat. He, like most JRT’s, thinks he is a tightrope walker mixed with a flying squirrel. No distance is too far for him to try to jump from. He doesn’t tear up toys or bedding, chew the furniture or your shoes. He gets along great with all 5 dogs of various personalities at his foster home and loves their cat. If you would like to adopt Rusty, go to cprdogs.com to fill out an application to give this sweetie the home of his dreams.

This dog is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested positive for heartworms. The adoption fee is $425 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368.
If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between noon and 2pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05.

TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back.

After receipt of your application an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
