Kane is a male pit mix, born on May 1, 2016.  Kane is obedient, loving, and smart. He's learned sit and I'm teaching him the command 'easy' so if he's hand fed a treat he's takes it gently. He's got a healthy appetite and is filling out really nice. He's good with other dogs, and great with kids.  He's been with my little 6 pound dogs with no issues. He's played with neighborhood dogs fine. I think he would be fine with my big dogs too, just my big dogs aren't fine with him. I also have been periodically putting my hand in his food bowl, scooping up the food and letting eat out of my hand, that way I know he won't he food aggressive. He does great with it, he actually likes to give kisses when he's fed. He's done fine in the house, I don't know if he's completely house broke bc he's not stayed in for long periods at a time. The adoption fee is $125. This covers the cost of spay/neuter, DHPP, Rabies, Flea, tick, heart worm check, worm treatment, and microchip. To adopt, you need to first fill out an application. Go to: http://rutherfordcountyhumanesociety.org/DogAdoptionApplication.html. We are located in Western North Carolina. Optional transport is weekly.  After your application is approved, we will contact you regarding cost and delivery if you so desire.

About Rutherford County Humane Society - NJ

About Our Rescue Group...

Rutherford County Humane Society is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that has been serving Rutherford County since 1979, with the mission to significantly improve the lives of unwanted and neglected animals, and to measurably decrease this number through our spay and neuter programs, volunteer foster homes, and outreach and education. We are an independent organization that works in collaboration with other area animal advocacy groups. All of our efforts depend on our passionately compassionate volunteers, and financial support from the community. We have made the decision to use our resources to continue promoting the number one solution to our pet overpopulation problem - and that is spay/neuter. We are available to you at our phone number - 828-286-0222. Our mailing address is still PO Box 998, Rutherfordton, NC 28139. Our website (http://rutherfordcountyhumanesociety.org) is always current, and you can contact us through the web. You will receive a prompt reply. We have adoptable pets posted on the site.
