Scooter's Story...
Meet Scooter! Scooter is new here, so our caretakers are still learning about his personality. He is around 9-years-old, currently weighs 15lbs and was transferred from another shelter. He might be on the older side, but he’s still got spunk! His face says it all and he’s always happy to see everyone. At this time, we are not yet sure how he is with other dogs, cats or kids. As we get to know him, we will let you know. Is this older guy the one for you? Give him a chance and spend some time with him today!

Scooter is temporarily unavailable, but is still able to have applications submitted once you've met. For more information or inquires about meeting Scooter, please give us a call at (302) 571-0111 or visit us at our center (701 A Street Wilmington, DE) Tuesday-Friday 12-7pm or Saturday & Sunday 12-5pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Scooter, a Wilmington Mixed Breed (Small)/Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Mixed Breed (Small)/Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Mixed Breed (Small)/Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Mixed Breed (Small)/Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Mixed Breed (Small)/Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
