Carmela's Story...
Little Carmela was found running around a busy grocery store parking lot in Houston. Her finder was certain that someone was missing her. She tried for over a month to find Carmela’s owner, to no avail. She then reached out to Lola’s Lucky Day to find a new home for little Carmela. Carmela is approximately 8 months old and weighs 9 lbs. She is a super sweet little lap dog. Carmela loves to play with the other small dogs in her foster home. She has not been around cats or children in her foster home in Texas. She is very sweet and she loves to give kisses. Carmela is crate trained and mastered the dog door quickly. She is almost house trained. Carmela is a beautiful little girl looking for a wonderful home!

Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once
approved a meet and greet with the dog. Please note that preference is given to adopters in
Wisconsin, but out of state adoptions will be considered. Adoption fee is $250.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carmela, a Fort Atkinson Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Fort Atkinson, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Fort Atkinson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fort Atkinson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fort Atkinson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fort Atkinson paves the way for another one to be saved.
