This is Lady, a very sweet collie who is about 9-10 years old and looking for a new place to call home. She was very well taken care of by her previous family, but unfortunately, their circumstances changed and they were heartbroken to have to give her up.

Lady is a very mellow girl.  She has her favorite spots around the house, which tend to be cozy spaces like her crate, under a desk, or in a nook.  During a recent storm, she even found her way into a closet to hide out!

She takes pride in being a motion detector.  Lady will hang around the porch and watch the world go by, and will bark at stray squirrels, chipmunks, and the occasional deer.

She enjoys walks, but it doesn’t take long before she is ready to call it a day and head back home where she can cozy up and have you pet her.  Lady loves affection, and will be quite persistent about nuzzling with you until you give her some love.  And can you blame her?  This sweetheart deserves all the love in the world!

About Collie Rescue, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Collie Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Our mission is to place stray, abandoned and surrendered collies into loving and permanent homes, educate the public about the collie breed, and promote responsible pet care. Our goal is to provide a safe and healthy haven for all dogs placed in our care until loving, adoptive homes can be found.

Our Adoption Process...

It is Collie Rescue, Inc’s responsibility to place the animals that we rescue into an environment compatible with their needs and to ensure their adoption is in the best interest of both the animal and the adopter. Following are a few guidelines to help you understand the adoption process:

All rescued animals receive the following:

- Spay/Neuter

- DHPP & Rabies Vaccines

- Heartworm Test

- Monthly Heartworm Preventative (Interceptor) while in our care

- Fecal Exam

- Deworming, if needed

- Microchip Implant

- Bath, Groom, Frontline while in our care

Collie Rescue, Inc. will contact your veterinarian for a reference.

Collie Rescue, Inc., or an approved third party, will perform a home visit before the rescued animal is placed with the adopter. The home visit is performed to assure us that the prospective rescue will be a good match for your household. If necessary, areas of concern and helpful suggestions will be discussed either during or after the home visit.

There is a $300 adoption fee. The adoption fee pays for the veterinary expenses of the rescued animals.

The adopter must sign a legally binding adoption contract.

The adopter must return the animal to Collie Rescue, Inc. in the event they can no longer keep it.

The adopter represents that all members of the household have never been charged with cruelty to animals.

If the adopter moves, they must notify Collie Rescue, Inc. of their new address and phone numbers. (Collie Rescue, Inc. registers the microchip and therefore needs to keep adoption records current should the rescue animal become lost.)
