What do you get when you cross an Anatolian Shepherd with a Lab? You get a gigantic lapdog!
If you're looking for a high-energy dog you'll have to look elsewhere because Keena's motto is "Chill." But if you're looking for a gentle, sweet girl who will love you forever, Keena is sure to exceed your expectations! Keena was picked up as a stray in rural Arkansas and brought to a high-kill city pound where dogs never see the light of day, and have very little human interaction. Crazy thing is, her family knew she was there and they didn't think she was worth the fine they'd have to pay to get her out. So they left her there. Because she is such a sweet girl, the animal control officer held her for a month, hoping someone would come by and adopt her, but rural Arkansas gets very little exposure and soon her time was up. And that's when our shelter director stepped in. A girl like this just had to have a second chance. Keena was so happy to see her when she walked into the pound, very much ready to meet her and be her friend. And that was the first day of the rest of Keena's llfe.

Keena is now at a shelter we like to call "the Group Home" where the dogs get to socialize with each other all day long. Instantly, the shelter staff recognized Keena's sterling temperament: her low tail wag, her soft brown eyes and her gentle demeanor were all sweet invitations to come pet her. One introduction was all that was needed to make Keena a loyal friend. She's blended so well with everyone and she loves making new friends -- human and canine. And, while others at the shelter compete for attention, Keena is the one who sits calmly and perfectly poised, confident that her good behavior will capture all the best attention at treat time! (Hotodgs are a favorite, just check out her video!) At playtime she loves to stretch her long legs with a gallop around the open yard, and she always tries to avoid confrontation -- no alpha genes in this girl.

Keena is about 5 - 6 months old, she already weighs about 60 pounds so we think she is going to be in the 85-95 pound range. We have no idea what her true mix is, but there's lots of her to love! And the biggest thing about her will always be her heart. If you have lots of love for a girl who will love you back even more, please visit www.pinkshelter.org for more information about the adoption process or click here for our online application. Full vetting and spay included in her $400 adoption fee. Transport fee is additional $140. IF YOU HAVE AOL or YAHOO PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FILE FOR OUR RESPONSE
