COOKIE is a two-year-old black medium haired female cat. Cookie was adopted from us in 2015, and the owner recently passed away unexpectedly. This cat was brought to a local shelter near the former owner’s home, and the microchip scan showed she had once been ours. We were given the opportunity to take her back, and we acted upon that opportunity. Cookie is very stressed and depressed, and understandably so. For Cookie, who was adopted at eight weeks old, she has been torn from the only home and family she has ever known. She arrived with numerous toys, so it appears they were lively and played with often in her former home.
This girl is very sweet, and we hope she resides with us for a very short time before she finds a new home, another family to love and be loved by, another family that will care for her as well as their former owner did. Does this sound like you? Come visit the Cookie!
At PAAWS RI, all of the cats that come into our care are spayed/neutered, receive a rabies vaccination, distemper vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatment, microchipping, testing for Feline Leukemia/FIV, and a fecal test.

Our shelter is located in the Care for Animals veterinary hospital, at 2944 Post Road, Warwick, RI 02886. You are welcome to visit during the following hours: Monday and Tuesday 8 am to 5 pm, Wednesday 12 pm to 7 pm, Thursday 8 am to 5 pm, and Friday 9 am to 1 pm. Very young kittens are in foster homes, not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting a young kitten please fill out our adoption application.
We have an Adoption Open House every Saturday from 10 am to 12 noon -- hope to see you there! We're also happy to set up appointments.
