Ferdinana's Story...
AARF only adopts in Richmond, Virginia and the surrounding area.

Hi, my name is Ferdinanda! I am a 9 month old, 39-pound Shepherd mix.
I am very loving and one of my favorite things is to be right by your side, although I can also entertain myself quite well. Just get me a few toys and I'm fairly happy. One of my favorite games is fetch, and I would be a great running partner. My intelligence is off the charts—I love learning all the new tricks! I am very outgoing and brave, and I've never met anyone who I didn't want to be best friends with. I am afraid of nothing—not even the vacuum! I can't wait to find my forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ferdinana, a Richmond Shar Pei/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Shar Pei/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shar Pei/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
