Name:  Buffy      Breed:  lab mix

Approximate Age:  1-2 years      SEX:  female

Approximate Weight:  60 lbs

Has Lived With:  dogs

Currently Living at:  an overcrowded rural shelter -- Buffy needs a foster or forever home ASAP!!

Meet Buffy!  Buffy is around 1-2 years old and a happy, affectionate, super-sweet girl!  She is just a love.  She is a super-playful girl and is happy about pretty much everything!  Buffy shares a kennel with several other dogs and does well with them!  She's friendly and energetic, and just loves playing with toys.  Can't say enough nice things about this sweet pup...will YOU be the one to give her a chance at life? :-)

Although she was abandoned through no fault of her own, that doesn't seem to bother Buffy and she has a lovely demeanor.  This diamond in the 'ruff' is ready be your new best friend...she can't wait to get out of the shelter and start a new, better life with someone who loves her!

Buffy says...Hi there, everyone!  They call me Buffy, and they say that I'm just the cutest, sweetest, most loving girl EVER!!  Do you have room in your heart and home for a pup like me??  I have a beautiful, smooth, shiny coat that is super-soft…great for everyone to pet me (hint hint). :-)  I weigh about 60 pounds (not too big), which makes me a perfect size for an apartment, house or condo!!  They say I am probably some sort of Boxer mix…all I know is that I'm a happy pup and I love to play, get lots of pets, and give lots of doggie kisses!

Read below for more info on Buffy, and email ASAP if you're interested in her!

Buffy says:  I don't know why, but somehow I ended up in this scary shelter.  It's dark, cold and really loud in here and I keep waiting for a nice person to come get me.  But each time I see someone, they walk right by and I'm still by myself. :(   Luckily, the shelter staff say I am one of their favorites, but they hope that someone will step up and adopt me very SOON so I can get out of here and to safety in a loving home!

Don't you think I would look really cute as your new Facebook cover photo, romping around in the sunshine and rolling in the spring grass!?  And how I'd love to snuggle up by you after a long hike.  I just really want to run, play, then snuggle, nap and dream of all the adventures we'll have together.  I would just LOVE trips to the dog park and hikes in the woods -- I love to discover new things!

Buffy is an awesome dog and makes friends with everyone she meets!  At around 1-2 years old, she will need lots of exercise to stay happy and healthy.

Buffy's new person or family will need to make sure she gets lots of socialization and playtime with other dogs and people to keep up the good social skills she has already!  And like all dogs we adopt out, she'll need to go to obedience classes to build a strong bond with her people, and help her become a well behaved companion or family member.  Buffy seems to like all the people she meets, and can't wait to wiggle her way into your heart and home.

Like most young dogs, Buffy may need a refresher on her house training when she gets to a new home.  She will also need to go to obedience school so she can continue to be a well-socialized dog!

The adoption fee for this dog is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and e-mail it to at Sheila at ASAP!

About Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a group of highly motivated and highly dedicated volunteers. We spend countless hours making sure that wonderful dogs find loving forever homes. We don't do it for money -- we do it for the joy a dog can bring to its new family; we do it for our love of animals; and we do it to save lives!

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!
