Please wecolme Holtby!

He is approximately 2 years old and was abandoned by his owner.

He was malnourisehd and his foster family nursed him back to health.

He misses his people a lot but does better when his brother or sister (my other dogs) are around although he does not do well with a pushy dog.

Holtby is friendly but very timid and shy - if he comes to you - you can count on some snuggles and kisses.

He is terrified of loud noises, so a calm family atmosphere would be best for him.

He loves other dogs and would need to be in a home w ith another dog.  Holtby also loves kids.  Older, respectful kids would be best for him.  Holtby is also good with cats!!!  He might engage in a bit of chase, but he doesn't hurt them and I am told that the cat starts it!!

Holtby loves to play with our puppy and will spend hours outside rolling in the dirt and very much looks like pig pen a lot cloud of dust!

Holtby will need a family that is calm and patient and will help him to build his confidence that he will never be abused or abandoned again.

About Second Chance Boxer Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Second Chance” is not a second chance for dogs, because that would presume they had a first chance and failed. The majority of the dogs we rescue never had any chances, first, second, or otherwise. The name of our rescue refers to giving humans a second chance to provide a safe, healthy, and loving home and environment for our dogs, since most of these dogs come to us after they have been abused or neglected by their owners.

SCBR solely relies on volunteers to get the work done and no one receives compensation for their work. SCBR receives no funding from the government or the United Way. Our adoption fees and donations from other dog lovers cover our costs.
