Jax is an adorable 12 week old, 12 pound Labrador / Boxer mix, in search of his forever home in Colorado. When our rescuers in Houston saw this sweet boy brought to their shelter as a stray street pup, they immediately contacted us because they were certain this baby deserved a life of love in Colorado. We agreed, and stepped in to save him from his pending euthanasia.
Jax is the type of mix that will be a true people dog. He enjoys humans of every age group we are searching for an active family to adopt him.

We also envision Jax with a very active retired couple or individual who want a kind and adorable guy in their lives. He would be overjoyed with time spent...hiking, exploring and then flopping down on the couch together at day's end.
Jax would be so excited to spend his days in the company of his people. He could be a perfect office dog in a dog-friendly workplace after an opportunity to attend group obedience classes and puppy play groups. Farfel's is very happy to provide names of approved positive reinforcement trainers in your area. These classes teach both the dog and family how to use new behavioral skills..and therefore develop a strong bond and great behavior out in the world.

Jax can initially have moments of shyness from the turmoil that has been in his life...a guardian who is present and full of good intention can readily get this great pup past any insecure feelings and let him know he is loved and will never be abandoned.

Jax will be neutered and up to date on his vaccinations prior to his transport to Denver, although due to his age, he will still need his next booster shots. Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Jax's microchip and next booster shots if our Denver vet is used.

Jax will be arriving on transport in Denver on Friday, 5/27/17. If interested in this sweet and devoted best friend, please fill out an application at and submit to or fax to 303-443-7730.

About Farfel's Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

We own a pet boutique named Farfel's Farm on Pearl Street in Boulder, CO. We have had the good fortune to find our niche in the Boulder community and experience success. We felt it very important to "pay it forward" in gratitude for our good luck. We couldn't think of a better endeavor than to save dogs who were out of time in the southern states, yet had been identified with great temperaments. We dedicate our efforts to their good health and ultimate wonderful, permanent homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Pets are transported from the southern states approximately twice per month. Almost 100% of the time, the dogs are spoken for as a result of adoption applications that can be referenced under Adoption at We study the applications. If the app indicates there is a match, followed up by a home visit and reference checks, the process moves to the next step. The adopter is committing to a 2-week foster (of course the dog can be returned at any time prior), and can then choose to finalize the adoption.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adoptions start out as a 2-week mandatory foster period. During that time, Farfel's covers all vet issues if one of Farfel's rescue vets is used. We also serve as a support with trainers and behaviorists on board for questions. An Adoption Application and an Adoption Contract must be completed before any dog can begin their 2-week foster. Our average adoption fee runs about $445. This amount serves to cover vetting, spay/neuter, all vaccinations, heart worm testing, temperament testing and transport. Our dogs come from Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma and rural Colorado.
