Olive may be missing an eye, but we think she's purr-fect just the way she is! Olive is a friendly 2-year-old buff tabby that came to AFRP from the Salinas Shelter after arriving with a terrible eye injury. She underwent eye removal surgery, and has now healed and is completely pain-free. Olive has adjusted nicely to life with one eye, and she's an affectionate cat that loves head rubs and chin scratches. For safety reasons, she needs an indoor-only home. Meet Olive at the AFRP Adoption Center in Pacific Grove.

About Animal Friends Rescue Project

About Our Rescue Group...

AFRP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding good permanent homes for stray, abandoned, and abused companion animals. We are also dedicated to ending the companion animal overpopulation problem through focussed spay/neuter programs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Animal Friends Rescue Project has a main adoption center and many satellite adoption sites. Our Main Adoption Center is located at 560 Lighthouse Ave in Pacific Grove. We are open Tuesday through Saturday 12-5. Adoptable cats are always on site. We also bring 5-10 adoptable dogs to the center from shelters or their foster homes on a daily basis. If you are interested in meeting a specific dog from our website, please call 333-0722 or email Check our website for a complete listing of our satellite adoption sites, dates of our adoption days, and dogs and cats available for adoption (

Our Adoption Process...

The adoption fee for a cat is $150 which includes their spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, and FIV/FeLV testing. The adoption fee is $200-$300. The adoption fee helps to cover the cost of the care the animal has received, including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, deworming, and flea treatment.

All potential adopters complete an application and are screened using a standardized series of questions by a trained adoption counselor. If the application and screening are satisfactory, a qualified adopter can complete a contract, pay the adoption fee and take the animal home.
