Adonis von Adorf is a beautiful 12 month old German Shepherd. And what a dog! Adonis is certainly a picture perfect Shepherd in appearance and he has a personality that will make you fall in love. He's wonderfully affectionate and playful with his people, following them around, tossing about toys, and being his happy self. His foster family reports that once he settles in, "Truly, he is all you could ever want in a Shepherd." He is loving and sensitive, listens well, rarely pulls on leash and keeps up a good happy pace on walks. Not only that, but mid-energy Adonis is already house trained and knows a couple of commands. Adonis enjoys affection and will come up to you asking for pats, but isn’t pushy. He bonds readily, especially with women, but can be rather uneasy meeting new people, and thus will be best in an experienced home. (We were told he was good with children in a prior home, but his exuberance might be too much for young children). Around other dogs, big and small, Adonis is very friendly. The play yard is where you see more of his puppy side as he loves to romp with friends and play with toys. So he is not just looking for someplace to call home, but a family who will be his own, a place where he won’t be too idle or searching for his own adventures and with preferably another canine playmate or two.
