My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Hello! I'm BARNEY, and I love you already! I'm a playful, happy, and trusting guy who has a glass-is-half-full outlook on life. I'm a Great Dane/ Shar Pei blend, and I'm about three years old. I'm really just a big, sweet baby who'll put a big smile on your face. I like everyone, including other dogs. I know commands such as "sit" and "lie down," plus the staff is fairly confident that I've already been house trained. I'll be happy to learn anything else you'd like to teach me, especially if I get to play with a squeaky toy as a reward. I'm an athletic dog who can get moving pretty fast when you throw a toy, so if a family adopts me, the kids should be older and bigger. If you use a harness when you walk me, I walk beautifully! I'll need a fenced yard at my new home, along with a good dose of daily exercise. When we play fetch, be sure to have me sit before you throw the toy so I can maintain my good manners. After my exercise, I'll be ready to chill out on my dog bed and provide you with companionship. Please come visit me here at the El Cajon Animal Shelter so you can see for yourself what a delightful pooch I am. I hope you'll stop by soon! Love, Barney"
