Dana's Story...
Dana is a 3 year-old Pomeranian mix, weighing 8 pounds. She was rescued from a small apartment complex and stayed in the cage for 2 months because Dana was too scared and trembling whenever volunteers tried to take her out of the cage and take her to walk. Dana wouldn’t stand up on 4 legs so no potential adaptors paid attention to her.

And then, Dana was diagnosed with heartworm. Since she was in Stage 3, the shelter put her in the euthanasia list. Hence we decided to rescue her and found a foster mom for Dana. It has been two months since Dana has stayed with her foster mom, successfully treating heartworm. Dana is also taking medication for high blood pressure in the lung; and scheduled to go through a comprehensive examination again next week to see if she is all treated. Dana is friendly and mild-mannered and has an endearing quiet personality.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dana, a Ft Collins Pomeranian dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pomeranian for sale in Ft Collins, or seeking a Pomeranian dog from a breeder in Ft Collins.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ft Collins already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ft Collins breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pomeranian breeders who help with Pomeranian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ft Collins paves the way for another one to be saved.
