Hi! My name is Phoebe and I am the proud Mom of four adorable little puppies that are all growing up and getting adopted into their own families. I am a great Mom, loving and protective of my puppies! Since they are all finding new homes of their own, I think its time for me to find my new forever family too!

I would make a great addition to a home with just women in them. I get a little scared and anxious around men, I think its the deep voice that scares me. I have also gotten along with children fawning over my puppies when my foster Mom let the neighborhood kids take a peek at them.

I play very well with other dogs! My foster Mom has three dogs, two boys and a girl, and I get along well with them all. I enjoy running around the fenced in back yard with them, playing fetch, and getting belly rubs.

When I came to my foster Mom, I was very malnourished, but I have plumped up just fine now with a steady diet, and despite being so malnourished when I arrived, I am not food aggressive.

I know how to sit and I'm learning to walk better on a leash. I do not like to hop into the car, but once I'm in I ride very well. At my foster Mom's house, I do not sleep in a crate, I sleep in a dog bed on the floor next to her, but I do like going into the crate with the door open. I managed to escape from a crate when I first got to my foster Mom's house, but I did not destroy anything and honestly just prefer to chill out with the other dogs or play with them when she is not home.

Please consider making me your new best friend! I am a really awesome gal!

Adoption fee is $225

About Paws For Life NC An FCHS Program

About Our Rescue Group...

FCHS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization comprised entirely of volunteers from Franklin County and throughout the state and country. It was formed in 2002 to help solve the problem of unwanted dogs and cats in this region. Its long-term goal is to build an animal shelter where area pets can find safe refuge until they can be adopted to permanent homes. Its immediate goals are to develop a strong foster program to remove adoptable animals from the Franklin County Animal Control facility and to decrease the number of unwanted dogs and cats in Franklin/North Wake counties through spay/neuter public education programs

Our Adoption Process...

1.After you find A Dog or Cat, review the description of the foster you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular foster. The picture of the foster does not tell the whole story.

2.Complete the adoption application. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the foster you have chosen is a good match for your home. has the applications. This is step one.

3.Once the application is submitted you will usually receive an email letting you know if the foster would be a good match for you and making arrangements for you to meet the dog at one of our adoption events. Sometimes a foster is best shown at the foster home due to his or her personality. We will let you know where the foster home is and arrange a time that works both for you and the foster home.We do require that everyone who will live with the foster to come and meet them. There is a chance we may tell you that the foster you are interested in is not a good match and may suggest another foster.

4.If, after meeting the foster you decide you would like to adopt him or her, a home visit will be scheduled. Someone from the Franklin County Humane Society will call and do the visit. The foster does not come on the home visit. Home visits are required before any foster leaves our program.

5.If more than one person applies and meets the same foster, all things being equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6.Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement. Please read the agreement carefully to make sure that you understand what you will be agreeing to.

7.An adoption fee of $250 for dogs under 6 months $225 for 6 months and older and $95 for cats, Senior Cats $50. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the fosters while in foster care. All FCHS fosters are altered, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. We are all volunteers and as such receive no monetary compensation for our work with the fosters. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the fosters.

8.Congratulations! You are on your way to having you new furry companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your foster at any time.
