The St. Martin Humane Society was founded in April 1999 by a group of concerned citizens. The Society obtained a 501(c)(3) tax exemption status in June 2000 and relies on community support and fundraising to fulfill its mission.
Our mission is to prevent and relieve the suffering of animals, aid in the enforcement of all laws relating to the subject of cruelty to animals and the lawful protection thereof, carry on a program of teaching and education on the subject of cruelty to animals and responsible pet care, reduce the overpopulation of domestic animals in the area served by the SMHS through spay/neuter and vaccination programs, seek the return of lost animals to their rightful owners, seek suitable homes for animals without owners, and obtain and maintain shelters for homeless or abused animals.
Come Meet Our Pets...
We participate in many adoption events throughout the year. Many of our animals can be met at our adoption events held on most Saturdays and/or Sundays at PetSmart located on Johnston Street. Please check our website or contact us to see what upcoming events we will be participating in.
Our Adoption Process...
The first step in adopting a pet is to complete the Adoption Application found on our website www.stmartinhumane.com and email it to email@example.com. If approved, we will send you the foster parent's contact number.
We do not operate a shelter. All animals are cared for in private homes by loving foster parents. Adoptable animals have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and are heartworm free (dogs) and FIV/FeLK negative (cats). Care includes flea and heartworm prevention.
The SMHS Adoption Contract requires a safe and secure enclosure appropriate for the size of the dog.
Adoption Fee is $125.00 for puppies and dogs, $100 for kittens and $25 for adult cats for a limited time only.
Humane America Animal Foundation, dba Adopt-a-Pet.com, is a non-profit, tax-deductible 501(c)(3) adoption advertising charity. Our mission (and passion) is to help
get homeless pets out of the shelters and into loving homes. Let us know what you think! Suggestion & Comment Box

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
