Facts about Charlie

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Tortoiseshell
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 11426563
  • Hair: Short

Charlie knows who she is and what she likes and this confident 1-year-old feline will not hesitate to tell you!  She likes squeaky toys and scratching posts, and being petted - on her terms.  She will need a home where she can be queen bee and set the rules.  Are you willing to serve her highness?  She is beautiful and playful and is sweet when she chooses!  Probably would do best with a former cat slave that has already been properly trained (does she sound like a previous cat you’ve had?  You’d be perfect for the job!)

About Rohnert Park Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

We are a municipal shelter assisting the animals and people in Rohnert Park and Cotati. Our organization moved to its current beautiful facility in 1995. We have a skeleton paid staff and rely heavily on the assistance of over 100 active volunteers to enable us to offer all the services we do. We run a summer educational camp program for children, offer tours of the shelter, microchips for the public, provide stray animals refuge from the dangers outdoors and have a successful adoption program for the animals in our care.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Shelter Hours:
Wed 1:00-6:30 p.m.
Thurs, Fri, Sat 1:00-5:30 p.m.
Sun 1:00-4:30 p.m.
We are closed on Mon & Tues but will redeem lost animals by appointment.

We also are at the Petaluma Pet Food Express on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 10:00-2:00.
We offer a Meet the Bunny event at the shelter the 2nd Saturday of each month from 1:00-5:30. The public can bring their rabbits (safely contained please) for a free nail trim and a chance for a bunny date!

Our Adoption Process...

The first step in adopting an animal is making a trip to the shelter. Check the cats available and dogs available listings, but you might want to visit the shelter personally since new animals arrive every day. To learn more about animals available at the RPAS, call (707)584-1582.

The adoption process:
When you find an animal you want to adopt, you will be asked to fill out an adopter profile.
Shelter staff will talk to you about adopting an animal and answer any questions you might have. They will call your landlord if you rent your home, to make sure that type of pet is allowed.
Spend some time with the animal! Make sure that the entire family feels comfortable with the animal that you have picked out.
If you already own a dog and you want to adopt another one, you are required to bring in your dog to make sure that they get along. There is a big fenced in area next to the shelter where the dogs can interact.
There is an adoption contract and other paperwork to complete. Adoptions stop 1/2 hr before we close so we have ample time to go over all the information and answer your questions.
The adoption fee is $95.00 for cats and dogs (an additional $60.00 training deposit is required for certain dogs - training deposit is refundable with proof of completing an obedience class).
