Hello.  My name is Carter.  I am a male dog estimated to be 2 years old and a Mountain Cur mix.  (Perhaps with a little bit of Labrador - just a guess.) I recently arrived at Gail's Pets after having been found abandoned.  I arrived with another dog that appears to be my littermate (Cash).  The people here at the rescue were told by the people who found us that they had had us for 2 months but no family came forward.  They said we got along fine until a couple of days before they contacted Gail.

When I first arrived here I was afraid of everyone.  I would lay in a corner and growl, but I would not snap.  Anyway, everyone took their time with me and spent time approaching me slowly.  I think I was just scared of everything and everyone being so new.  But now my tail is always wagging.  I love all of the volunteers and I especially love going for walks.

I am looking for a home where I can be king - meaning no other dogs.  So far I'm not a fan of other dogs so it would be best.  Perhaps you'd like to call Gail and speak with her about me.  I am a sweetheart and will be your best buddy.

Carter resides at a rescue organization in Arkansas. Please contact Gail Ross at 870-431-8229, or via email at gailspets@hotmail.com to discuss this dog. You can find our adoption application by going to www.Gailspets.org and clicking on the Adoption Application tab. The application, when completed and submitted, will be electronically sent to Gail’s email address. If you live on the East Coast, we work with a wonderful transport company that takes extra special care of the precious cargo that they deliver to anxious new families. Here is a link to their schedule of stops.

Call or email us for an adoption application. Complete the adoption application and return.

Fenced in yard is preferred for anyone adopting a dog

If adopting a cat, the adopter must agree that the cat will stay indoors all the time as all of our cats are strictly inside cats.

Veterinarian reference

.
All dogs and cats in the household must be spayed/neutered

References listed on this application will be checked & we do require a HOME VISIT PRIOR to any adoption.

Our main goal is to make the best possible match between the dog and the adopter.

Adoptions are not on a first come first serve basis.
Please be aware that we do require an application, veterinary references and do HOME CHECKS BEFORE placing our dogs.

There is a minimum adoption donation which helps us to offset veterinary costs (YES, THE VETS DO CHARGE US & IT IS NOT CHEAP!)
for the dog you adopt and so that we can continue to help OTHERS in need.

All of our dogs receive any necessary medical treatment, are up to date on their shots (based on age) and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

If renting, a copy of the Landlord/Lease Agreement stating that pets are allowed, what type of pets, size of pets are allowed and how many pets allowed. If a pet deposit is required, proof that the deposit has been paid is also required.

Ozark Mutts and Stuff is soley interested in adopting our Furkids to good homes and not to make a profit on any adoption.

Please remember, you are not paying for the dog. You are helping to offset some of the costs associated with spaying and neutering; heartworm testing and preventative; basic vaccines and parasite control; and shelter fees where applicable. Also, there are many dogs that come to us with problems that have expensive veterinary bills, i.e. heartworm treatment, broken legs, mange. After adoption we are always available to assist and advise our adoptive families in every way we can. If for any reason an adoption does not work out, we want the animal back.
