Gavin is a 6 month old Retriever mix. He's extremely sweet, energetic and playful and loves to play fetch. He gets along great with other dogs, though he tends to play a bit too rough with smaller dogs. He likes cats, whether they like him back or not, but has a tendency to playfully chase them. He walks well on a leash and is working on his house-training. He's very intelligent and learns basic commands very quickly. Gavin has Heterochromia, one eye is brown and the other is brown and blue.
Although good with kids, he's completely unaware of his size and like a typical Retriever, he can be a bit mouthy, so he would do well in a home without young children. He is very energetic, so he needs an active family that can take him on a daily walks/runs and exercise him thoroughly. He suffers from motion sickness when riding in cars, so he would not do well with a family that likes to travel often with their pets. He does experience some mild separation anxiety and will bark, cry and howl when left alone, especially when confined, so he would do well with a family where someone is home most of the time. Gavin would do best in a home with a secure, 6 foot fenced in backyard as he can easily jump a shorter fence.
