Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET MR. MOONIE!
This adorable little guy is named Mr. Moonie! Moonie is a ~10 year old Shih Tzu who came to City of Elderly Love from a local animal shelter. While he may have found himself homeless at a later age, he who acts like a younger dog and who will keep you laughing! We like to refer to him as the "one-eyed wonder"!
Moonie is a super friendly little guy who has made friends with all of the children in his foster parent's neighborhood. In fact, he really loves to meet people of all shapes, sizes and ages! He loves butt scratches and loves to snuggle up on the couch with his human buds. He's quick to let you know if he needs or wants anything with a series of different wimpers/cries. He'll let you know if he needs to go outside for a potty break, if he wants some water or dinner, and even if he just wants some back scratches! Moonie is doing well with his housebreaking in foster care. He really loves to go for walks. If you have a yard, he'll also happily explore his surroundings! Moonie is a bit of a picky eater and is currently loving Pet Fresh dog rolls. It may take some experimenting to find what he likes to eat in his new home. Moonie lived with cats in his previous home and recently lived with another dog and meets new animals on walks all the time. He's pretty indifferent to them and while he doesn't mind sharing his space with them, he's not overly interested in playing. He'd love to have other chill dog or cat friends just like him!
If you haven't already noticed, Moonie only has one eye. Because he was blind in his other eye and it was painful and chronically dry and providing him no purpose whatsoever, we opted to remove it and he's feeling SO much more comfortable. Moonie can see just fine with his one good eye. Plus, it just adds to his charm, don't you think? Moonie can't hear much besides loud noises, but that also doesn't slow him down a bit. Moonie is otherwise a healthy, happy guy!
Moonie is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Interested in adopting him? Visit www.cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!
