Zukie is a very friendly and outgoing 9 year-old neutered male Puggle whose family did not want to keep him anymore so he came to Canine Lifeline to find a new home. Unfortunately, Zukie has enjoyed too many snacks in his previous life and now weighs 43 pounds. He needs to lose about 20 pounds to be at his ideal weight. Obesity can shorten a dog’s life by several years so we are committed to seeing that Zukie gets the new healthy lifestyle that he needs. Zukie is now in a foster home where he’s on a healthy diet and is working to get back to his ideal weight. He will need a home where his new family will stick to his diet and exercise regimen. Zukie walks very nicely on a leash so daily walks to help him get in shape are on his wish list. Zukie gets along very well with other dogs so might enjoy a canine companion in his new home. He would probably also be fine as the only dog in the home as long as his family had plenty of time to spend with him. Zukie has excellent crate manners and is likely to be housetrained too. His adoption fee is $125. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. Zukie’s senior blood panel came back as normal. He does need a dental cleaning which he can come back to our vet for at no charge once he reaches 35 pounds. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested in Zukie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there.
