M.A.M.A.S. (MaryAnn Morris Animal Society ) is a rural shelter serving all the communities of Bamberg County South Carolina. We do our best to help and save all that come our way and adopt them out to loving homes through a network of rescue groups and volunteer transports. We are also home to Betty's Fund, a special project within MAMAS dedicated to helping fund the treatment of dogs at MAMAS who test HW positive. MAMAS is asking those with an equally generous heart & love of animals to please make a contribution to Betty's Fund, so that even our HW positive dogs can get the medial treatment they so desperately need to find safe rescues & loving furever homes.

Come Meet Our Pets...
Leave Bamberg heading south on Highway 301. Where the road forks (opposite Zeigler Chevrolet), take the left fork --Highway 601 towards Ehrhardt. Travel 1.2 miles south. You will pass the County Public Works garage and a dumpster location. Turn left on Slow Pitch Road, a dirt road that passes along the side of the baseball field. Take the first left, along the back side of the ball field. The Shelter's office is in the white trailer in front of the yellow building on the left.
Our Adoption Process...
MAMAS pets are given parvo-distemper vaccine, a rabies vaccine and de-worming medicine prior to adoption. All dogs also receive a bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine upon arrival to the shelter. At MAMAS the adoption policy also requires adult animals must be spayed or neutered before they leave the shelter. MAMAS will allow animals to leave the shelter intact, provided the new owner agrees to have the animal spayed/neutered after leaving the shelter. These owners are required to leave a $200 deposit, which is refunded when documentation is provided to MAMAS that the surgery has been performed. Dogs and cats over the age of six months MUST be altered within one month of their adoption.
