Rusty IV's Story...
Hello friends, my name is Rusty. I'm a gentleman of 12 years old and I weigh about 60 pounds. I have been a little sad and confused lately. You see, my owner brought me to a vet and left me there. He didn't come back and I can't understand why. I know I'm an older fella but I still like to have fun. I am the friendliest, sweetest boy you could meet. I'm very good in the house and I love to go for walks and to snuggle. I am lucky that AGB got me when they did. My ears were hurting something awful and in fact I can't hear a thing. AGB found that I have really bad ear infections in both ears and it has been a chronic problem for me. It probably caused my hearing loss. They also found I have those nasty old heartworms and a touch of arthritis. But thankfully, they are giving me all the medical care I need to feel better and get ready for my forever family. I love everyone! Kids, adults, teenagers, other dogs, even cats don't bother me. If you could find a place for me in your heart and home I would be so happy! PS...I qualify for the Senior to Senior program which means adopters 65 and older don't have to pay an adoption fee to take me home! AGB hopes for donations to help pay for my medical care. Any amount you could give would be so appreciated.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rusty IV, a BIRMINGHAM Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in BIRMINGHAM, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in BIRMINGHAM.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in BIRMINGHAM already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a BIRMINGHAM breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in BIRMINGHAM paves the way for another one to be saved.
