My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shylah is my name and having fun is my game. I've got toys and dogs on my mind and long walks would also be fine. You wanna play?? Great, so do I!! I love to play with toys, especially if someone throws one for me. I also love to play with dogs!! There are small dogs in my foster home and we get along so great but they don't play with me as much as I'd like them to. Maybe because I'm around 54 lbs and bigger than them?? I don't know. I think I'm pretty darn gentle with them but it might be nice to have a doggie friend my size or even bigger to run around with and play chase with and pal around with. I want to meet all the doggies I see. I also like people and I'm very polite when I meet them, I don't jump on them or anything like I've seen some dogs do, but I do get excited when I see other dogs. Oh, Do you wanna go for a walk? Great, so do I! I really like to go for walks and it keeps me in good shape and it's something we can do together. I'm only around 2 years old and I've gotten so many compliments on my beautiful eyes and people really seem to like my wispy hair and my smiling face. Hey, I'm a happy girl, what can I say?? You wanna be my best friend? Great! Because that's what I would love. Or a whole entire family would be just as great because that's what I am....a very loyal, loving, devoted, faithful dog. Oh, and do you like to snuggle?? So do I! I like to snuggle and I will cuddle and lay my head in your lap or on your chest and hey, if you don't mind, the occasional belly rub would be good too. I like those. Oh, and guess what? I'm very very smart! I know basic obedience commands, I listen very well, I know how to give paw and I am very treat motivated and could probably learn so much more!! Oh, and I was told to let you know I am also housebroken, though sounds like a weird word to me. I think saying I use the great outdoors as a potty sounds better, don't you? Don't I sound like just the dog you are looking for?? I'm ready, are you?? We are looking for a home with a dog of comparable size and a fence.

Shylah has tested positive for Heartworm and is being treated with the slow kill method (paid for by Legacy).
Our adoption process starts with our application. Once the application is approved, a member of Legacy will contact you to set up a home visit. The home visit usually last 1-11/2 hours and is to make sure our dog and any current dogs/cats are getting along, as well as both of us agreeing it's a fit. At this time the adoption fee is due, and begins the 2 week trial. We will check in during the 2 week trial. If it's not working, our dog is returned to the foster home and all except $50.00 of the adoption fee is returned. At the end of the 2 week trial, you decide if you will finalize the adoption - if finalized, the Adoption Contract is signed and all medical records are turned over to you. If at any time you need to rehome the dog it contractually needs to be returned to Legacy Dog Rescue.

ADOPTION FEE's:
Puppies under 6 months: $199.00
Adults: $150.00
Seniors (over 7 yrs): $99.00
