Update 8-17: Mango has fully healed physically from his tail amputation. He still will chase/try to attack his tail when he gets nervous or stressed at times. He's on medication which has helped a lot but will need a calmer adult home where he can feel safe. Email njwoof@cs.com if you are interested.
Little Mango needs your help!
We intercepted this 3 year old tiny chi unexpectedly yesterday as he was being surrendered to the local pound while we were there...he had been biting at his tail severely and needed emergency surgery to amputate the injured portion. He had surgery today and is resting comfortably, and will be on medication and need to wear a cone for a while to make sure he doesn't damage his tail and work on breaking his anxious habit. He's only 5lbs full grown and a very sweet little guy who will need a stress-free calmer adult home who will continue to work with him. We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS).
