My name is Duke. I am not happy about living in this shelter. My dad person left me and is waiting for me on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge; that’s what people tell me. I went on to live with other people who were a part of our family. They work, a lot. They left me on my own in yard all day while they were gone. I missed my dad so much that I started getting out of the yard more often to fi nd him. People would find me and put me back in my yard, but I never stayed for long. I was on a mission and no one was ever home to stop me. The last time I was caught wandering around the neighborhood, I was taken straight to this shelter where I still am to this day. I guess no one had time for me, so here I sit. I am a sweet guy who is missing my home and my person. I guess I need to find a new family, one who does have time for me and will help me cope with my loss. I am 10 years old, I don’t potty in the house, I feel tired most of the time but I still love to play every now and then, I don’t do cats AT ALL, I’m handsome and I am sweet; too sweet to be here. I can’t live in this shelter any longer. Please don’t let me stay here another night.

About Saving Whiskers and Tails

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of volunteers that realized the need for a rescue in our area for animals that are considered "last chance." We work with neglected, abused, starved, dumped, abandoned, injured animals. We have rehabed and adopted 2 Great Danes that were days from death because of starvation, a dog that was attacked by Coyotes, 2 gun shot victims, a dog that was purposely set on fire (we couldn't save her but we provided the vetting services for the family). We have rescued at least 50 dogs that have been dumped and abandoned including several mothers and litters that we work to get into rescues out of state.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our pets are all in foster homes. One of our volunteers is always available to introduce prospective families to our pets, by appointment.

Our Adoption Process...

We require the family meets the pet for local adoptions and introduces the pet to their family and other family pets. There is an adoption application. We reserve the right to ask for and check references, including vet references. The adoption fee is only our vetting fee and any transportation costs that may be incurred.
