Facts about Mia

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Brown Tabby
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: C010949
  • Hair: Short
Mia and her kittens were found in March in Lake Worth and then moved to Tampa for fostering. Mia is barely older than a kitten herself at approximately 1 year old. While she was very skittish and scared the first few days, her sweet personality came out as she became more comfortable at our house. She is not a huge fan of being picked up, but she wants to be pet all the time and loves wrapping herself around your legs. She likes to look at the squirrels out our window and loves to nap in chairs. Once Mia feels safe and comfortable in a home, you can't stop her from purring.

Mia is so ready for her forever home where she can be a kitten again! Check out her youtube video to see her kitten antics:) https://youtu.be/guNv3GL7PFw

Here is another video to show the purr-y Mia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNzLH2m5xgM

About St. Francis Society Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

St. Francis Society Animal Rescue is an all volunteer, non-profit 501-c-3 animal rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of sick, injured, and stray domestic animals as well as spay/neuter and medical services for those animals. We seek to place animals in a loving foster or permanent home after recovery and we DO NOT euthanize unless terminal illness necessitates such a decision. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, tested for leukemia/FIV (cats), wormed and vaccinated before they are adopted.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Some of our cats ready for adoption can be seen at the following Adoption Center locations:

PetSmart, located at 12835 Citrus Park Dr across from the Citrus Park Mall. Our volunteers are onsite for adoptions Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm to 5:00pm and will be happy to assist you with finding the perfect feline companion. PetSmart management can assist with an adoption during other days/hours, time permitting. Cats are onsite 7 days a week.

PetSmart, located at 11331 Causeway Blvd in Brandon. Cats and adoption counselors are onsite for adoptions Saturday from 9:00am to 3:00pm and Sunday from 10:30am to 2:30pm only.

Petco, located at 13127 N Dale Mabry Hwy. Cats and adoption counselors are onsite Saturdays from 11:00am to 4:00pm only.

We have many more cats than the ones housed at our Adoption Center locations. Our cats live with foster families until they are ready for adoption and space is available at an Adoption Center. If a cat is located in a foster home and the foster has provided contact information, you can get more details on a particular cat directly from them.

Our Adoption Process...

Cats are to be indoor only; no declawing; must present proof of pet deposit and copy of lease showing pets are allowed if renting. cats are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate shots, wormed and defleaed. More is charged for exotic breeds (or mixed) - i.e. Siamese, Persians, Bengals, etc.
