Facts about Farley

  • Breed: German Shepherd Dog/Golden Retriever Mix
  • Color: Brown/Chocolate - With White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 11450859-PAT-D-Pharro

Farley was a little too much for the small apartment he was often left alone in, especially at his age. Gratefully, DARS had an opening so he didn't have to go to a horrible shelter. Farley is thriving in his foster home with lots of yard to run in and foster siblings to play and romp with. That's exactly the type of home this young, sweet dog needs. He would also do well with some sturdy kids to play with, tho he doesn't know his own strength and size sometimes, like a lot of young dogs.

Farley is housebroken and trying to learn to walk on a leash, tho this is an ongoing need. Born June 2016, he loves to play and is eager to go on adventures with his humans. He gets along well with other dogs. He's well behaved in the home, but needs rules and boundaries  like all young dogs. He would do great with someone who'll put the time into training him.

Farley is up to date on his vaccinations and has now been neutered. He is heartworm negative and on preventative. About Desoto Animal Rescue Society

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of unwanted, abandoned, and abused pets, giving them a second chance at a loving forever home. All animals taken in receive necessary medical care, vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are not a shelter with a facility where you can visit our pets. All rescued pets live in our own homes, where they are evaluated and cared for until they find their ideal adoptive family. We carefully screen prospective homes and require all applicants to go through an adoption application process.

We are not affiliated with the Desoto County Animal Shelter or any governmental agency. We do not receive any taxpayer funds. We operate solely on donations and the revenue we generate from fundraising events. 100% of our incoming funds go directly towards the care of our animals and to pay our vet bills. All other expenses are paid for by our own volunteers.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

We've made it very easy for you to donate one time, set up a recurring payment/sponsorship or do a tribute for someone. Everything is on our website here: info@desotoanimalrescue.org

Come Meet Our Pets...

Please see our website for the locations and times of our Adoption Events. We occasionally have special events which we're unable to post on all sites.

Our Adoption Process...

All pets are up-to-date on routine vaccinations and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. All dogs are tested heartworm negative and all cats are tested feline aids/feline leukemia negative. We require a pre-adoption application and a home visit. To help cover our veterinary costs, we ask for a $125 adoption donation for dogs and puppies and a $75 adoption donation for cats and kittens.
