Facts about Josie

  • Breed: Domestic Longhair
  • Color: Gray Or Blue (Mostly)
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 11451057-Ree-C-Josie
  • Hair: Long

This long haired beauty is also a great mom. Unfortunately, the best she could do before DARS found her was put them in a box in the trash that could've been picked up and dumped at any time. Gratefully, someone found her and her day old babies and gave them to DARS where they thrived. Josie has nursed and weaned her babies successfully.  She is now spayed and ready to go to her forever home.

Josie is very friendly and tho she isn't one to need constant contact with her human, she loves being petted and adored as is befitting her beauty. At around a year or two old, she's fully grown, but a picky eater and likely to stay small and thin which is only evident when you hold her because of her long flowing locks.

If you'd like more information about becoming this beauty's adoring human, please call 662-342-9448, email us at: info@desotoanimalrescue.org or submit a no obligation pre-adopt here: http://desotoanimalrescue.org/dog-adoption-application.html

About Desoto Animal Rescue Society

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of unwanted, abandoned, and abused pets, giving them a second chance at a loving forever home. All animals taken in receive necessary medical care, vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are not a shelter with a facility where you can visit our pets. All rescued pets live in our own homes, where they are evaluated and cared for until they find their ideal adoptive family. We carefully screen prospective homes and require all applicants to go through an adoption application process.

We are not affiliated with the Desoto County Animal Shelter or any governmental agency. We do not receive any taxpayer funds. We operate solely on donations and the revenue we generate from fundraising events. 100% of our incoming funds go directly towards the care of our animals and to pay our vet bills. All other expenses are paid for by our own volunteers.

Donate to Our Rescue Group...

We've made it very easy for you to donate one time, set up a recurring payment/sponsorship or do a tribute for someone. Everything is on our website here: info@desotoanimalrescue.org

Come Meet Our Pets...

Please see our website for the locations and times of our Adoption Events. We occasionally have special events which we're unable to post on all sites.

Our Adoption Process...

All pets are up-to-date on routine vaccinations and are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. All dogs are tested heartworm negative and all cats are tested feline aids/feline leukemia negative. We require a pre-adoption application and a home visit. To help cover our veterinary costs, we ask for a $125 adoption donation for dogs and puppies and a $75 adoption donation for cats and kittens.
